Giving

Each year TFA donates a portion of all membership dues to a charitable organization. Our goal is to support charities that have a connection to health and fitness, and we hope our members can be proud that a portion of their dues are going to support great organizations.

2022 Giving

As TFA continues to grow, we are able to spread our giving to more charities and ministries. During 2022, TFA donated a total of approximately $44,000 to the following non-profit organizations and projects:

Boys & Girls Club (Jackson, MS)

Our donation paid for the purchase and installation of a new scoreboard in the gym. We also purchased teen study Bibles for all of the kids in their program as well as Academy Sports gift cards for the kids to get new sports equipment for Christmas.

In His Steps Ministry (Canton, MS)

IHS serves the central Mississippi area by providing Christ-centered ministries to at-risk children, juvenile offenders, and their families. TFA made a general donation toward their sports ministry.

Lifeline Children’s Services (Jackson, MS)

Lifeline serves women in unexpected pregnancies across the United States by connecting them to resources, providing options counseling, and assisting them with an adoption plan if they desire. TFA made a donation to their general fundraising budget.

Magnolia Speech School (Madison, MS)

Serving hearing and speech impaired children from all over Mississippi and beyond, Magnolia Speech School is a thought leader among institutions nationwide. They have recently completed construction of a new campus, and TFA made a donation to assist in equipping their new facilities.

2021 Giving

Mission First (Jackson, MS)

For more than 20 years, Mission First has served areas of need in the inner city. The scope of services offered by the organization includes a medical clinic, dental clinic, and a legal aid office. However, it was the Sports Ministry that resonated with TFA. The ministry partners with New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis and focuses on developing youth through coaching, tutoring and Bible study.

We worked with their Sports Ministry Director to identify some of their current equipment needs for the after-school and summer sports programs. In December, 2021, TFA purchased and donated approximately $9,000 of new equipment, including:

  • Volleyball stands, bases, and nets
  • NCAA basketballs (girls and boys sizes)
  • Soccer balls
  • Volleyballs
  • Badminton sets
  • Baseballs, bases, and bats
  • Horseshoe sets
  • Jump ropes
  • Hula hoops
  • Flag football sets
  • Tennis balls and racquets
  • Other accessories and backyard games
